Section 1.1: Side Block Assembly (General)
Maintenance Requirements: The new version specifies that minimum replacement components during overhaul now include "all O-rings and washers included in the soft goods overhaul kit", whereas the old version only specified O-rings.
Kit Identification: Reference to KMDSI P/N 525-311 was changed from "repair kit" to "rebuild kit".
Section 1.1.2: Gas Flow Systems
Thread Specification: Corrected the low-pressure inflator port thread size from "38-24" to the correct 3/8-24.
Regulator Data: Added adjustment range information for the 455 Balanced Regulator (eight turns) , which was absent in the older version.
Safety Warning: A "DANGER" notice was added regarding the risk of a "squeeze" if the main gas supply is mistakenly connected to the emergency valve .
Section 1.1.4: Emergency Gas Supply System (EGS)
Terminology Update: The general "relief valve" is now specifically referred to as the "Overpressure Relief Valve (OVPR)".
Section 1.1.5 & 1.1.6: Removal & Separation
Tool Correction: Corrected the torque wrench attachment size from "11/36" to 11/16.
Section 1.1.7: Side Block Assembly Replacement
Sealant Selection: Guidance was updated to allow "Dow Corning RTV 732 Multi Purpose sealant or equivalent" , where the old version allowed only Dow Corning.
Cleaning Procedures: Removed a restriction that allowed acetone use only on the KMB 18; it is now generally permitted for dissolving uncured sealant.
Section 1.2: Steady Flow Valve (formerly Defogger Valve)
Overhaul List: Simplified the mandatory replacement parts list from specific numbers (Washer 7, O-ring 8, etc.) to a general requirement for "Washers and O-rings".
Section 1.3: Emergency Valve Assembly
Tool Requirements: Added "Adjustable Wrench" to the required tools list and corrected the "1/16 inch" wrench size to 11/16 inch.
Teflon Tape Correction: Corrected a critical typo regarding thread preparation from "11 1/2 wraps" to the correct 2 1/2 wraps of Teflon tape.
Removed extra period from the last sentence in the last paragraph in section 1.1.3 Free Flow. Corrected OVPR to OPRV in the first paragraph of section 1.1.4, Emergency Gas Supply System (EGS).
