1.1.1 Overpressure Relief Valve

Change type: Documentation clarification

Updated reference for illustrated drawings:

Old: Exploded view referenced broadly in KMDSI Helmet and Band Mask manuals.

New: Explicit reference to P/N 225-017 Overpressure Relief Valve Rebuild Kit instructions.

Minor wording edits (no technical or procedural impact).

1.1.4 Overpressure Relief Valve Lift Check / Setting

Change type: Procedural overhaul

Testing Method

Old: Lift check performed using:

Adjustable first-stage scuba regulator or scuba test stand

Intermediate pressure gauge at the first stage

New: Lift check performed using:

Surface-supplied gas via control console

Umbilical connected to helmet

Hand-loader/regulator on the console for pressure control

Procedure Structure

Old: Pressure raised and adjusted directly at the first stage regulator.

New: Pressure increased topside through the console; valve response verified at the helmet side block.

Safety & Controls

Added explicit warning that the OPRV must only be installed in a low-pressure port of KMDSI side blocks.

Added controlled pressure ramping guidance (bubble observation, incremental screw adjustments).

Added explicit pressure reset steps (drop to 145 psig between adjustments).

Documentation Expansion

Section expanded from text-only to multi-page, step-by-step procedure.

New photographic figures illustrating each major step.

Clarifies rationale for abandoning first-stage testing (precision, reduced regulator stress).
