Kirby Morgan has recently found, tested and approved an excellent cleaner for the Stainless Steel Helmet Shells, Innosoft B570®, and protector, Innoprotect B580®. They are fast acting, ready to use and 100% organic.
Highly corrosion resistant 316L stainless steel was chosen for the helmets listed above. Though the shells are exceptionally smooth and shiny, it is normal to have a certain amount of porosity on metal surfaces. The appearance of “rust & rust spots” may occasionally form. This is oxidation, not of the stainless steel, but of tiny amounts of foreign material trapped in the surface porosity.

Innosoft B570® is a deep cleaner that removes oxides from stainless steel. It is free from abrasive particles and consists of organic acids and surface-active agents. It is an intensive cleaner on contaminated surfaces, but it does not attack the metal. It is non-aggressive for metals, but very effective on dirt, oxides and “tea stains” (brownish areas).
Innosoft B580® is a mild cleaner. It is recommend that Innosoft B580 be used as a second step, after use of Innosoft B570, as it leaves a microscopic layer of surface protection. This layer of protection can help prevent what may appear to be fresh and reoccurring corrosion. As well as its use in removing loosened oxides and contaminants, it is suitable for routine day to day cleaning of lightly soiled surfaces that have previously been treated with Innosoft B570.
