Helmet Sealed Pull Pins (Part #505-110) No Longer Marked with an “S”

Effective October 30, 2006, all new Kirby Morgan® helmets that utilize the locking collar design will be shipped with sealed pull pins (Part #505-110) that no longer have the “S” stamp on the body of the pin. This stamp was originally used to identify the current version of the sealed pull pin that used a silicone o-ring. Older pins did not have this stamp (or silicone o-rings), (Reference Bulletin 1/95 - February 1995).

The current version of the pins have now been in production for over ten years. We are confident that the majority (if not all) of old style pins have now been replaced and are no longer in service. If you were a dealer at that time, you will probably remember that we did a replacement for all in-service units that had the old style pins. This replacement was done at no charge for the entire year of 1995.

Except for a few kits still in our stock, replacement sealed pull pins ordered today will not longer have the “S” stamped on the body of the pin.

The sealed pull pins are currently in use on the SuperLite®-17K and 17C, as well as Kirby Morgan® helmet models 27, 37, and 57. If you have further questions regarding this issue, please contact the Kirby Morgan® sales department.
