Kirby Morgan Dive Systems, Inc. has simplified the design the hinge pins on all of the KMDSI helmets with the introduction of the hinge bolt (530-027) and lock nut (530-028). This design replaces the previously used pin (550-275) and bolts (530-200).

The change simplifies the hinge design and helps eliminate line corrosion from developing inside the pin. Thew new design also eliminates the need for thread lock compound on the threads, reducing disassembly and cleaning time.

The new hinge bolt fits on Kirby Morgan models 27, 37, 17C, and 17K and will also be used on the 47, 57, and 67.

This change went into effect July 1, 2005.
